Sales Assistant - Paints

Part time to start

£9.00 Per Hour

THE COMPANY

This family run business are local providers of top quality paint and coatings to the trade sector. They provide their customers with technical advise on products and are able to mix colours in store to offer an extensive range of colour options. The company is growing and in need of an additional person to join their busy team.

THE ROLE

Initially the position will be part time working 20-25 hours per week but has scope to become a full time position if required. You will work 2-3 days during the week and every second Saturday.

Duties will include:

• Working on the front counter meeting and greeting clients
• Taking orders face to face, over the phone and through emails / Website
• Providing customers and potential customers with product information and technical advise
• Once trained on the in house paint mixing system - mixing of colours as required
• Taking payment and providing receipts
• Working using a computerised system
• Stock control

REQUIREMENTS

The idea applicant will have previously worked with paint or paint products either as a painter or in a retail / wholesale environment. The successful applicant will have the following skills, experience and traits:

• Knowledge of paint / coatings essential
• Good customer service skills
• Computer literate
• A quick learner
• Good attention to detail with an eye for colours
• A flexible team player

IN RETURN

Although initially the role it part time there is excellent potential to grow this into a full time role. Training on Paint Mixing will be provided. A very good hourly rate is on offer for the role.
