THE COMPANY

This globally represented engineering group manufacture products for the aerospace, automotive, glass container, oil & gas, mining, energy and other industrial sectors. The company are well established and offer a team orientated environment in which to work.

THE ROLE

Currently searching for a highly motivated, dynamic time served Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will work across a 2 shift system 05:30AM - 01:30PM and 01:30PM to 09:30PM. Occasional cover for night shift is required but this will not part of your standard shift pattern. The focus of work will be electrical +/-(70%) but some mechanical work will be required +/-(30%). You will be working on a wide variety of equipment including CNC's, foundry equipment, furnaces, ovens, pumps and much more.

Duties will include:

  • Always work in accordance with the company's Health and Safety policy
  • Provide first hand maintenance support for all process and facilities breakdowns
  • Provide planned preventative maintenance support in line with PPM Schedule
  • Support Maintenance team in the delivery of agreed objectives
  • Maintain professional development and industry compliance
  • Track the maintenance requirement as per agreed schedule
  • Analyse and resolve work problems, or assist workers to resolve theirs
  • Work with and support Maintenance Supervision to keep accurate records of activity
  • Work to maintenance schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
  • Recommend ways to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance, and quality of equipment
  • Ensure best practice in the workplace organisation and apply Lean principals including 5s and 'Waste' analysis across the department to promote a culture of continuous improvement and 'right first time'
  • Participate in improvement projects within the area to ensure that the most efficient and effective processes are available and utilised
  • The individual will be expected to work shifts (Shift premiums will be paid as appropriate) and be flexible in line with the department's requirements
  • The individual will be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime during peak demands
  • Additional duties as required to meet the needs of the business

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • To have completed an apprenticeship /time served tradesman
  • Ideally the candidate will be educated to HNC level or equivalent
  • Previous electrical maintenance experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment essential
  • Logical fault finding skills on both electrical and mechanical systems to establish route cause
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organise your time efficiently
  • A 'can do' attitude and a resilient personality
  • Be prepared to take ownership and be accountable for your work
  • Comfortable working individual and within a team
