Mechanical Design Engineer

£25,000 - £35,000 (dependant on experience)

Work Wales are working with a prestigious Swansea based client who designs and manufactures electrochemical water treatment systems. They provide technical support for plant design/layout, integrations, operation and after sales software and support. Our client is continually striving to innovate and develop sustainable solutions.

The Role

Assist in designing products and producing engineering drawings (assemblies, P&IDs and detailing equipment for manufacture).

An interesting Design Engineer position with the right candidate assuming responsibility for their own projects & delivery times. Working closely with the client to ensure the correct solution is achieved.

Experience

  • Proven experience in product design and fabrication (sheet metal background advantageous due to nature of products).
  • At least 3 years knowledge and experience of 2D/3D CAD software packages (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Preferable).
  • Familiarisation of lean manufacturing advantageous.
  • Be able to layout drawings with a design for manufacture mindset along with understanding of tolerancing and cost implications.
  • Be responsible for design documentation (part number registers, Ecn registers Etc.) in line with updates to drawings/assemblies.
  • Experience from clean and waste water sector and pipe line infrastructure drawing advantageous.
  • Experience of electrical and/or Civil design would be advantageous.
  • Experience in producing OEM/user manuals in line with CE/UKCA marking would be advantageous.
  • Will work on a multiple fast paced project within a multi discipline team of engineers.

  • The successful candidate will have the skills and design capability to evolve a concept into final product.

Requirements

  • Travel to customer/supplier sites may be necessary
  • Clean driving license
  • HNC or equivalent education in Mechanical Engineering discipline.
