Engineering Controller / Section Leader

An established manufacturing business who are experiencing strong growth and who have plans to take the company to the next level are currently seeking to strengthen their Engineering tea with someone who can both co-ordinate the function and develop/ manage a small team.

In order to help facilitate the growth from an engineering perspective, we are looking for someone who has previous engineering experience who can look at the needs of the business and introduce structure and processes/procedures to improve the efficiency of the engineering department.

Part of this will be by moving more towards planned maintenance, and utilising the skills within the department more effectively, calling upon external bodies only when needed

The ideal person for this role will have experience of the following:

• Co-ordinating Planned/preventative maintenance activity
• Supervising a small team
• Fault finding / identifying root causes
• Liaising and working with contractors ensuring correct works are undertaken and checked for compliance
• Reporting both verbally and written to management
• Adhering to Health and Safety legislation in particular RAMs, safe working, electrical regulations
• Being comfortable talking to shop floor and management equally
• Having the ability to develop the team for succession within the business.
• Challenging pre-existing methods and offering new ideas
• Managing day to day engineering issues
• Effective communicator

This is a great opportunity for someone who may want to slowly migrate from a hands on engineering role into a supervisory/ administrative type role where you will be able to put your stamp on things and progress to becoming an integral part of the management team
