The company
This automotive component manufacturer based in Llanelli is currently looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their team. The company is part of an internationally represented group with an impressive history and progressive approach, continually adding new products and technologies.
The Role
This is an exciting and responsible position reporting into the companies Operations Manager. The role is full time and permanent working:
Monday - Thursday 08:00AM - 04:30PM
Friday 08:00AM - 01:00PM
You will be responsible for leadership, management and overall results of the production team through effective management of tactical and strategic improvement plans via your direct reports and the overall team.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Management of financial aspects, budget, stock, overtime, staffing
- Manage performance improvements through effective planning and KPI achievement
- Consistently achieve quality standards
- Measurement of effective quality management
- Understanding of scrap and rework levels and reducing in line with business objectives
- Build and promote teamwork
- Lead and drive daily and weekly production meetings
- Ensure all activity meet or exceed required standards
- Understanding and administering company policies and procedures for people management
- Ensure adherence to plant emergency plans
- Adherence to layered audits
- Ensure adequate cover for periods of supervision absence
- Development of employees by identifying training needs, formulating personal development and succession plans
- Work with customers to address quality, cost / delivery concerns
- Identify opportunities to further improve H&S and implement agreed plans
- Promote Best Practice within the organisation
Requirements
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- Previous managerial experience in a fast paced production environment
- Leadership / management qualification
- Experienced in creation and implementation of strategic plans
- Solid problem solving and organisational skills
- Experienced in staff development and motivation
- A driven leader who strives for quality excellence
- A 'can do' attitude and the ability to inspire the team
