A leading provider of bespoke design solutions, seeks a dynamic Technical Survey and Design Manager to lead their team in Barry.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to spearhead high-precision surveys, manage technical design projects, and contribute to innovative initiatives.

This is a new role to the business and they are looking to improve the customer experience by giving their clients one point of contact to coordinate the whole process . This will be a hands on role but will also include the management of a small team of designers and will lead to becoming a key member of the management team

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales designers to ensure seamless project transitions.
• Liaise with customers to schedule visits, discuss project details, and obtain sign-off on drawings.
• Educate customers about project processes, restrictions, limitations, and expectations.
• Prepare survey documents for technical drawing purposes
• Create technical drawings for customer sign-off.
• Coordinate purchase orders and liaise with suppliers.
• Program technical designs into manufacturing software for CNC.
• Utilise software like SketchUp, Staircon, Alpha cam, or similar for design tasks.
• Develop installation instructions and provide remote support for on-site installations.
• Manage the technical team fostering a collaborative environment.
• Support Research and Development initiatives to drive innovation within the company.
• Provide technical support to address live issues

Requirements:

• Proven experience in technical surveying, design, project management, and team leadership.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other technical tools.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
