Are you a detail-driven procurement professional looking for a new challenge?

We have a great opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join our client in Port Talbot, responsible for purchasing raw materials that are vital to their manufacturing operations.

The Role

As a key member of the Supply Chain team you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure all purchased goods meet required standards and specifications.
• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, from raising Purchase Orders to ensuring supplier OTIF and delivery performance targets are achieved.
• Lead and participate in scheduled tendering activities, evaluate offers, and award business accordingly.
• Create and maintain robust supply contracts and supplier documentation.
• Support the Accounts Department in resolving invoice queries.
• Maintain and update the supplier database.
• Expedite deliveries where needed to ensure smooth production continuity.
• Uphold and promote all corporate procurement and compliance policies.

The Person

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a manufacturing or materials-based environment.
• Strong computer skills (MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook) and hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• The capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities with professionalism.
• A proactive, independent working style and strong attention to detail.

Education & Qualifications:

• Degree in a business discipline (or equivalent experience).
• CIPS Diploma (or working towards) - highly desirable but not essential
