The Company

We are looking for an experienced accountant who can look after the accounts for 2 small businesses in the Swansea area. It is a 1 year contract to cover Maternity leave.

The Role

You will be required to perform all areas of accounting for these 2 small businesses encompassing everything from accounts administration through to balancing the books and reporting to the directors. This is a sole charge accountant role.

Duties will include:

• Books to balance sheet
• Invoicing
• Reconcile bank statements against bills paid and money received
• Completion of monthly wages
• VAT returns
• Debtors and creditors control
• Petty cash control
• Reporting to senior management
• General financial administration
• Working on a fully integrated computer system (training will be provided)

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following experience and qualities:

• An appropriate accounting qualification (preferred)
• Experienced in handling the whole accounts function without subordinates
• Accurate with strong attention to detail
• Able to work well independently
• Previous experience handling more than 1 set of books simultaneously (an advantage)
