We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our Digital Investigations Laboratory, maintaining the department as a centre of excellence in accordance with ISO standards and the Forensic Science Regulators Code.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a varied team of staff, including digital forensic technicians, analysts and compliance officers.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Oversee the day to day running of operations, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to protocols, and timely completion of casework.
• Implement and develop best practices and standard operating procedures for evidence collection, analysis, and presentation.
• Remain up to date with the latest advancements in digital forensics, including tools, techniques, methodologies, and introduce innovative practices to enhance our capabilities.
• Collaborate with Law Enforcement/Government Agencies, Legal Professionals, and internal stakeholders to provide expert testimony and guidance on digital evidence.
• Conduct quality control reviews to maintain accuracy, reliability, and adherence to forensic standards (ISO/IEC 17025:2017, FSR Codes/ Statutory Code, 27001).
• Ensure the laboratory operates in a cost-effective manner and adherence to targets are met.
• Oversee and document team training and competency.
• Validate any changes/enhancements to the forensic process.

Qualifications:

• A First- or Second-Class honours degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience within a digital forensic practitioner role.
• Strong knowledge of forensic analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies (essential).
• Proficiency in using forensic software such as EnCase, FTK, or Cellebrite
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• 1 - 2 years' experience in leadership abilities with experience managing a team (Preferred).
