Lisa Thomas

Perms Recruitment Consultant

Meet Lisa, our Perms Recruitment Consultant. With over 25 years’ experience in recruitment, gained both in house and in an agency environment, what Lisa loves most about her job is being able to match candidates and clients and knowing it is a win-win for both. She enjoys supporting candidates and clients through the recruitment process, coaching both when needed.

As a testament to her skill and her positive relationships, Lisa still works with some clients who have been working with her since she moved to Wales about 20 years ago!

Having gained valuable experience over the years and having set up a business from scratch previously, when Lisa found herself looking for a new opportunity, she knew that she wanted to be able to take responsibility for her own desk and be given the freedom to be autonomous but with a supportive team.
From initial discussions within a short space of time, Lisa was offered the role at Work Wales which allowed her flexible working and as a bonus, she would only be working a four day week - she couldn’t believe her luck!

From day one, Lisa was made to feel welcome, part of the team and trusted by the management team to run her desk in her own style. She soon found out that the whole ethos of Work Wales was exactly the same as her own. While Lisa has the freedom to work in her own way, she knows that all levels of management are on the end of the phone whenever she needs them.

Lisa is approaching her sixth month at Work Wales and it has been fantastic having her on the team. She’s had one of the most successful periods in her career to date, and although her driving factor is placing people in the right roles for them, she’s found that the achievable commission structure is definitely a plus and has allowed her to book lovely trips abroad.

We’ve asked Lisa where she wants to be in 5 years’ time, and we promise she did say she’ll still be working with us at Work Wales! She said that by being here, it’s the closest she can get to working for herself but with the benefits of being part of a team. Lisa finds the 4-day week to be really beneficial, and her quality of life and health has never been better. On the day she’s not working, her clients know that there is someone to help with anything they need so service levels do not change.

Lisa has this to say as a nice little conclusion:

“Work Wales are definitely a company that care about their staff on a personal level and give everyone the chance to the best consultant they can be.
If anyone is looking for a new opportunity, I would suggest you get in touch for a chat. You will be glad you did!”
