The company

This automotive component manufacturer based in Llanelli is looking for a number of Team Leaders within their production department due to growth and expansion. The company is part of an internationally represented group with an impressive history and progressive approach, continually adding new products and technologies.

The Role

These positions are full time and permanent roles offering a variety of shifts:

- Day shift

- 3 Shift pattern 6-2, 2-10, 10-6

- 2 shift pattern 6-2 and 2-10

It is a 37 hour week with shorter hours on a Friday. You will report into the production manager and be responsible for safely managing your team.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring safety of staff through training, monitoring and resolution of follow-up actions
  • Ensuring quality control systems and procedures are followed
  • Driving for OEE improvements
  • Play an active role or lead in managers absence at daily meetings
  • Ensure daily plan is robust, risk assessed, resourced and clearly communicated to staff
  • Drive high levels of workplace organisation to 5S standards
  • Ensure time and attendance systems are followed
  • Intervene and be the secondary point of escalation for production issues that may impact on the production plan
  • Deputise for manager during absence or off day - shift hours
  • Work with the manager and team to execute Continuous Improvement Plans
  • Conduct layered process audits and drive timely resolution of non-conformity's
  • Robust planning of labour
  • Departmental audits
  • Manage process / engineering changes within area
  • Ensure appropriate management of quality concerns

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following experience, skills and qualities:

  • Supervisory experience in a production environment is essential
  • Good understanding of management principals and systems
  • Solid administration and computer literacy skills
  • A driven person, self-motivated and willing to take responsibility
  • A true team leader capable of developing their team
  • An experienced problem solver
  • Able to set and maintain high standards for themselves and the team
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • A management qualification would be an advantage but not essential
