During her career, Sophie has risen quickly through the ranks in a variety of management roles. In 2003 she earned a BSc (Hons) Business I.T. degree which led her to gain immediate experience in Office Management followed very quickly to an appointment as a Branch Manager within an international recruitment agency. Sophie's 10 years' experience in the recruitment industry across South Wales and England has been the foundation for the success of her company, Work Wales Ltd. As Co-Founder and Director she built the company from scratch in 2008. Today, Work Wales has developed into one of the fastest growing independent recruitment agencies and Sophie strongly believes that people are the heart of the business.

In addition to her strong leadership skills, Sophie is also an excellent Career Development coach, having undertaken the Train the Trainer course in Seattle; U.S. she has trained, mentored and developed staff for over 10 years. In 2014 she was named one of the finalists for “Female Entrepreneur” in South Wales Business Awards, and her company was awarded “Gold” in the Best For Recruitment in Wales. Sophie has been nominated and attained a variety of awards throughout her career but nothing satisfies her more than securing the perfect job for her candidates whilst ensuring an unrivalled commitment to her clients. Sophie’s focus over the years has been recruiting for multiple industry sectors of all sizes including Constructing, Engineering and Manufacturing. As Work Wales continues to grow Sophie's continued focus is on driving the business forward whilst also specialising in recruiting and head hunting senior level professionals using her natural consultative approach whilst ensuring attention to cultural fit.

What do you do when you’re not in work?Work………Ha Ha. I love doing anything and everything. You will often find me with my family and friends and if I don’t have a glass of wine in my hand then there is something wrong.:) I am a complete food lover – home cooked or out in a restaurant I’m there. So with a love for food has to follow a love for the gym where I can be found most mornings – I find the energy sets me up for the day.
What is your favourite film?No favourite. I love variety……. So I can be found watching Horror movies, Action films, Rom Coms and I love ALL the box set dramas like 24, Breaking Bad…… which I get hooked on and can finish in no time.
What is your favourite holiday?Beach Holidays for sure………. I am a sun worshiper, so anywhere hot, where I can laze on the beach, with a good book and a continuous supply of cocktails and I am SOLD. I also love City Breaks where I can get around more and learn about different cultures.
Why do you love recruitment?The variety. No day is ever the same. I love pressure and love to think, act, speak and work fast. I will always have a passion for temp recruitment, the pace, the challenge and everything about the process excites me. You will always hear me say “You either LOVE it or HATE it” and I absolutely LOVE IT. I love meeting new people from all different walks of life and I love nothing more than to deliver the service I have promised my clients and I love the satisfaction I get from finding candidates their perfect job. As the business grows so does the role, now I find my time is best spent mentoring, coaching and developing our fantastic team of managers and consultants.

Biggest achievement?Without a doubt in 2 words……………..WORK WALES. It’s been hard work but worth every minute that we've put in (Mrs Allen :)). I love what we have created, I love the company, the brand, what we stand for, how people perceive us and of course I love the team I work with every day.
