Logistics Planner in Ammanford

My well established and award winning company based in Ammanford is seeking a Logistics Planner
to join the site Logistics team. Reporting to the site Logistics Manager, the ideal candidate will have a broad experience of lean manufacturing operations, planning systems implementation and business improvement activities.

You will be responsible for scheduling the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels, Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes & assess volume requirements against planning assumption, You must understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedules, take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
In this role you will continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes or unforeseen circumstances and expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. You will create regular statistical reports and analysis for stakeholders and work cross-functionally and collaboratively with all stakeholders. Your role will be to implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement. You will attend regular meetings with Operational Teams on current and future production plans, identify issues and bottlenecks affecting the plan & escalated as required.


To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of the supply chain process, have excellent IT skills and knowledge including advanced excel skills. As this is a hands-on role and the person appointed will also have excellent communicational skills with the ability to form and maintain excellent relationships internally and externally, have strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills. You will have strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills as well as project management skills. You must have excellent attention to detail and be able to work on own initiative and drive appropriate goals due to the nature of this industry you must have the ability to work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience of material and production planning in the automotive or manufacturing environment desirable and knowledge of lean techniques are advantageous.

You will have the opportunity to work for a well established company, have free parking in site. You will be working Monday - Friday. You will also have half day on a Friday. The salary is paying up to £25,000 for the right calibre candidate.
