Electronic technician in Swansea

My client is a well established business based in Swansea, they are currently looking for an Electronic Technician to join a busy company.


The main purpose of this role is to assemble cables, connectors, pcb (surface mount and through hole) and panel wiring. Perform the testing and calibration of electromechanical products.

Main Tasks include :

·Produce electronic parts and sub-assemblies
·Testing of sub-assemblies and parts using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters
·Final assembly of systems
·Creating new and updating existing build instructions to latest specification
·Perform calibration, final test and documentation and packing of new and returned products.
·Repair of electronic systems to component level
·Use drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, modify, rework or re-assemble units.
·Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity
·Work with the production engineering and the development team to improve product and manufacturing methods
·Work as part of the Production Team to achieve Production Targets and KPIs
·Involvement in annual stocktakes
·Ensure that Company Quality Policy and Procedures are applied
·Ensure that Company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures are applied
·Any other duties as required by the Production supervisor/Manager

You must have GCSE's grade C or above in Mathematics, science and English
Along with the following qualifications - BTEC HNC/HND or higher in electronic discipline. You will have Minimum 3 years working in an electronic manufacturing environment, Lead free through hole and surface mount hand soldering, Good knowledge and understanding of analogue and digital circuits


You will have the ability to solder to a high level and knowledge of IPC-A-610, work as team toward shared objectives, good oral and written communication skills, the ability to interface with people at all levels, highly motivated and flexible as overtime is sometime required, have an eye for detail, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Along with the ability to problem solve under pressure and think outside the box, this position may require some manual lifting
