Mechanical Assembly Fitter in Swansea

My client, who is a market leader in their industry based in Swansea are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter to join their small close knit and friendly team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to get involved in a multifaceted role within a company that has a hands-on culture.

This is a workshop based role and main elements are detailed below:

·Working with Lathe, Manual Mill, Saw's etc.
·Electrical and industrial hand tools
·Mechanical Assembly
·Hydraulic Knowledge, industrial pipework, pumps etc.
·It is not essential that you are time-served as long as you are able to demonstrate previous mechanical assembly experience.
·A range of manual tasks to maintain the performance/operation of the water treatment process
·Adhere to health and safety requirements set by employer and client
·Carry out routine planned preventative and reactive maintenance
·Trouble shooting and fault finding
·Be able to interpret drawings as well as follow details job sheets

This diverse role will also involve some lab assistant work, again experience is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided and so it is not necessary that you have the complete skill set, more importantly the correct attitude. The role will really suit someone who is proactive, open minded and willing to learn and develop their current skill set.

Lab work includes:

·Carry out experiments according to clearly defined safety and environment guidelines.
·Sample testing
·Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory record keeping.
·Perform data entry, records management, report writing and effective communication of results.
·Demonstrate initiative by suggesting lab improvement projects through application of new techniques or new equipment.
·Calibrates instruments and analyses plants chemicals according to their specifications.
·Clean and maintains own equipment and work area exercises technical skills in repairing and modifying own equipment.
·Chemical and process appreciation

The ideal candidate will be able to learn and understand the processes used by our client in their niche market and will be proactive in finding solutions. HMI, system programming and running trial systems.

Some intermittent travel within the UK may be required, so flexibility to do so is a must.
